Nonprofit board members and executive staff have important – and sometimes complex – obligations to their organizations, the clients they serve, and the donors who support them. We are pleased to let you know about a new resource, The NYC Good Governance Blueprint,which was produced to help nonprofit leaders navigate rules, regulations, and structures so they can be productive.

NYCON and our subsidiary Governance Matters were proud to be a part of the NYC Nonprofit Board Development Coalition that helped to produce this document. The group, led by NYC Service, a division of the Office of the Mayor, was convened in March of 2015 and included 20 organizations that make it their mission to support nonprofits across New York City.

“Nonprofit organizations are critical to the health of New York City and effective governance is integral to their success,” said NYC Chief Service Officer Paula Gavin. “NYC Service is thrilled to release the NYC Good Governance Blueprint in partnership with our NYC Nonprofit Board Development Coalition and encourages nonprofit leaders in our City to take advantage of the best practices, tools, and references for governance in this new resource.”
