New York, NY, July 27, 2016– Governance Matters, Inc., a subsidiary of the New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. (NYCON), is pleased to announce the receipt of two grants intended to modernize and update  A program of Governance Matters, is the nation’s premier board matching website.

The two awards are from the First Nonprofit Foundation in the amount of $25,000 and from S&P Global in the amount of $15,000.

“The need for nonprofit boards to recruit and retain qualified volunteer directors has never been greater,” said Doug Sauer, CEO of both Governance Matters and NYCON.  “boardnetUSA pioneered the technology for online board matching and now, thanks to the support of our funding partners, the program will be moving to the next level. We believe that, with an upgraded website, nonprofits across the country will gain access to phenomenal board candidates that they may have never met without this online tool.”

boardnetUSA was originally established in 2001 by the former Volunteer Consulting Group, Inc., and is now a program of Governance Matters.
